Resumo

Introdução: Os exercícios dinâmicos de marcha têm sido propostos como uma estratégia para melhorar a estabilidade da marcha e o controlo metabólico em idosos com diabetes. No entanto, a eficácia comparativa entre exercícios dinâmicos e programas tradicionais não foi totalmente investigada.
Objectivo: Avaliar os efeitos dos exercícios dinâmicos de marcha na capacidade de marcha e no controlo glicémico em idosos com diabetes e comparar estes resultados com os dos programas tradicionais.
Metodologia: Ensaio clínico randomizado com sessenta participantes distribuídos aleatoriamente por dois grupos de trinta. Os escores do Índice de Marcha Dinâmica, os níveis de hemoglobina glicada dos registos médicos e a qualidade de vida de acordo com o questionário SF-12 foram registados antes e depois de uma intervenção de doze semanas.
Resultados: No grupo da marcha dinâmica, o DGI melhorou de 16,24 ± 2,30 para 23,85 ± 1,87, a HbA1c diminuiu de 8,32 ± 0,32 para 5,78 ± 0,22 e o SF-12 aumentou de 49,26 ± 6,10 para 67,86 ± 5,54. Todas as alterações foram significativas (p < 0,001).
Discussão: Estes resultados são consistentes com estudos que mostram que o treino da marcha melhora a coordenação neuromuscular e o controlo metabólico.
Conclusão: O treino dinâmico da marcha deve ser integrado nos programas de reabilitação para melhorar a mobilidade e o controlo glicémico nos idosos com diabetes.
