Cuantificación de la carga externa en baloncesto mediante WIMU Pro: una revisión sistemática

Resumen

Introducción: En el baloncesto moderno, la cuantificación de la carga externa es clave para optimizar el rendimiento y prevenir lesiones. Sin embargo, su aplicación mediante tecnologías como el sistema WIMU Pro™ aún es limitada frente a otros deportes colectivos.

Objetivo: Analizar el uso de un sistema basado en sensores inerciales (IMUs; WIMU Pro™) en baloncesto y sintetizar los hallazgos sobre la cuantificación de la carga externa mediante esta tecnología.

Metodología: Revisión sistemática según las directrices PRISMA. Se realizaron búsquedas en Web of Science, Scopus, PubMed y SPORTDiscus, incluyendo estudios publicados hasta 2024 que emplearan el sistema WIMU Pro™ en contextos de baloncesto.

Resultados: Se seleccionaron 13 estudios que analizaron variables de carga externa como distancia recorrida, aceleraciones, impactos y carga del jugador. Se observaron diferencias significativas en función del periodo de juego, posición, sexo, tipo de tarea, nivel competitivo, contexto (entrenamiento o competición), espacio utilizado, marcador, y ventana temporal analizada.

Discusión: El sistema WIMU Pro™ permite identificar patrones relevantes de carga externa en baloncesto. No obstante, la escasa evidencia disponible y la heterogeneidad metodológica dificultan la comparación entre estudios y limitan la generalización de resultados.

Conclusiones: El sistema WIMU Pro™ es una herramienta útil para monitorizar la carga externa en baloncesto. Futuras investigaciones deberían ampliar muestras, incorporar nuevas variables y contextos, y combinar esta tecnología con el control de la carga interna para una evaluación más integral y aplicable.
