Efectos del preacondicionamiento de fuerza excéntrica con y sin suplementación de cúrcuma sobre el dolor y la capacidad funcional en mujeres con fibromialgia

Resumen

Introducción: La fibromialgia es un síndrome de dolor crónico generalizado de alta prevalencia en mujeres en edad laboral. El ejercicio excéntrico y la cúrcuma han demostrado potencial analgésico y antiinflamatorio por separado, sin evidencia previa de su combinación en esta población.

Objetivo: de determinar los efectos de un programa de preacondicionamiento de la fuerza excéntrica con y sin suplementación con cúrcuma sobre la fuerza muscular, el dolor y los síntomas asociados en mujeres de 30 a 65 años diagnosticadas con fibromialgia.

Materiales y Métodos: Estudio cuasi-experimental pretest-postest con dos grupos. Población accesible: 50 mujeres con fibromialgia en Pamplona, Colombia. Muestra: n=30 (calculada con GPower 3.1; d=0,50; alfa=0,05; potencia=0,80; ajuste 16% abandono), distribuidas en Grupo Fuerza (GF, n=15) y Grupo Fuerza+Cúrcuma (GFC, n=15). Perdidas: 5 (GF=2; GFC=3); muestra analizada: n=25. Intervención: 8 semanas, 2 sesiones/semana, técnica Slow/Superslow, 40-60% 1RM. GFC: 1.500 mg/día de cúrcuma.

Resultados: Reducciones significativas en el Índice de Dolor Generalizado (GF: 11,8 a 5,1; GFC: 12,5 a 5,8; p=0,001) y en la Escala de Severidad de Síntomas (GF: p=0,001; GFC: p=0,002). Incrementos en fuerza muscular de miembros superiores (GF: +45,4 N) e inferiores (GF: +22,4 N).

Discusión: El ANCOVA no evidencio diferencias significativas entre grupos, confirmando que el ejercicio excéntrico es el componente activo principal.

Conclusiones: El programa de fuerza excéntrica es eficaz para reducir el dolor y mejorar la función en mujeres con fibromialgia; la cúrcuma no añade un beneficio diferencial significativo bajo el protocolo evaluado.
