Affective and enjoyment responses to a high-intensity interval exercise with elastic resistance

Introdução: As respostas afetivas e de prazer positivo estão ligadas à adesão ao exercício ao longo do percurso. A intensidade do exercício influencia as respostas afetivas e o prazer, mas ainda não é claro se um novo tipo de exercício de alta intensidade, consistente em correr com uma resistência ao desgaste fixada numa cinta, pode gerar respostas psicofi-siológicas positivas ou negativas.
Objectivo: Este estudo comparou as respostas afectivas, de gozo e fisiológicas entre o treino em intervalos de alta intensidade em cinta de corrida (HIIT) e o treino em intervalos de alta intensidade com resistência elástica (EL-HIIT).
Metodologia: Rapazes adultos saudáveis (8 homens e 10 mulheres; 26,6 ± 3,9 anos) participam em sessões aleatorizadas de HIIT e EL-HIIT. Cada sessão consistiu em 10 intervalos de 1 minuto para ~85-90% do VO2máx com intervalos de recuperação passivos de 1 minuto. As respostas afetivas são avaliadas antes, durante (no final de cada esforço) e 10 minutos após cada sessão, enquanto as respostas de disfrute são avaliadas após a sessão. Foi utilizada uma ANO-VA bidirecional para comparar as respostas anteriores, durante e após cada sessão, e uma tentativa de comparação para as diferenças posteriores à sessão.
Resultados: A sessão de EL-HIIT gerou menos respostas afetivas positivas durante a sessão em comparação com o HIIT (p < 0,05). Nos últimos minutos do EL-HIIT, a resposta afetiva foi mais positiva e ambas as sessões mostraram um elevado nível de prazer.
Discussão: O EL-HIIT e o HIIT fornecem resultados semelhantes no afeto positivo, prazer, autoeficácia e intenção de futuro. Os resultados são semelhantes aos estudos que aplicam protocolos de HIIT.
Conclusões: Embora o RA tenha diminuído durante a sessão, nenhum dos protocolos resultou numa resposta psicológica negativa. O EL-HIIT e o HIIT fornecem resultados semelhantes na afetividade positiva, prazer, autoeficácia e intenção de futuro após o exercício.
