Análise da representação de atletas femininas nos media desportivos: uma revisão sistemática da literatura

Resumo


Introdução: O foco da cobertura nas atletas femininas começa a mudar, com um maior reconhecimento das conquistas e dedicação ao Desporto. Apesar das melhorias na representação, ainda existe uma lacuna no reconhecimento público das atletas femininas em comparação com os homens, especificamente em prémios desportivos ou plataformas promocionais.
Objectivo: Este estudo tem como objectivo explorar a representação das atletas femininas nos media desportivos, com foco na ênfase nas conquistas, nos estereótipos de género e na orientação da cobertura.
Metodologia: Utilizou-se a Revisão Sistemática da Literatura (RSL) para investigar como as atletas femininas foram representadas nos media em diferentes períodos.
Resultados: Os resultados mostraram desigualdade entre atletas femininos e masculinos, sendo que as mulheres receberam frequentemente menos reconhecimento e atenção proporcional às conquistas. Além disso, os estereótipos de género influenciaram a representação das atletas femininas na cobertura desportiva devido a um maior enfoque nos aspectos físicos ou estéticos do que nas conquistas desportivas. Durante a revisão, foram detetadas mudanças significativas no foco dos media nas atletas femininas ao longo do tempo.
Conclusões: As mudanças na representação das atletas femininas nos media desportivos são essenciais para a criação de uma narrativa de conquistas mais equitativa e inclusiva. Os resultados indicaram a necessidade de mudanças na cobertura mediática do desporto feminino, enfatizando as conquistas e a dedicação, bem como minimizando os estereótipos de género existentes.
