O papel dos videojogos de futebol na melhoria das capacidades cognitivas essenciais para o desempenho no futebol

Resumo

Justificação e objetivo: O futebol exige uma tomada de decisão rápida e tempos de reação rápidos, capacidades cognitivas cruciais que são tradicionalmente desenvolvidas através do treino físico. Este estudo explora se os videojogos de futebol, que simulam cenários de jogo reais, podem melhorar estas capacidades cognitivas entre jogadores de futebol masculino de nível universitário. Materiais e métodos: Participaram no estudo 51 jogadores de futebol do Grupo de Instituições SRM, divididos em três grupos: jogadores regulares de videojogos (Grupo A), jogadores ocasionais (Grupo B) e não jogadores (Grupo C). Foi utilizada uma abordagem de métodos mistos, combinando testes quantitativos de capacidades cognitivas (tomada de decisão, tempo de reação, consciência situacional). O videojogo utilizado no estudo foi o eFootball 2024 e os participantes jogaram durante 6 semanas. Os testes foram realizados antes e depois de um determinado período de participação no videojogo. Os dados foram analisados ​​utilizando ANOVA de desenho misto e correlação de Pearson. Resultados: Foram observadas melhorias significativas no grupo A em todas as capacidades cognitivas avaliadas. A tomada de decisão mostrou efeitos notáveis ​​de grupo e de tempo (F (2, 48) = 5,76, p = 0,005, η² = 0,17; F (1, 48) = 12,54, p < 0,001 , η² = 0,25), sendo que os efeitos de interação indicam melhorias substanciais ao longo do tempo (F (2, 48) = 3,45, p = 0,035, η² = 0,08). O tempo de reação e a consciência situacional seguiram padrões semelhantes, com efeitos significativos de grupo, tempo e interação. A análise de correlação revelou fortes inter-relações entre as capacidades cognitivas, indicando que as melhorias numa área influenciaram positivamente as outras. Conclusões: A participação regular em videojogos de futebol melhora significativamente as capacidades cognitivas essenciais para o desempenho no futebol. Estes resultados sugerem que a integração dos videojogos nos programas de treino poderá complementar os métodos tradicionais, oferecendo uma ferramenta valiosa para o desenvolvimento cognitivo no desporto.
