O impacto das redes sociais e do envolvimento da comunidade na saúde e na atividade dos alunos

Resumo

Introdução: Este estudo apresenta uma das primeiras tentativas de examinar sistematicamente a influência do conteúdo mediático e da comunidade sobre o futebol no estilo de vida saudável e na atividade física dos jovens estudantes. Os media sobre futebol, enquanto fenómeno único na intersecção entre desporto, entretenimento e redes sociais, têm um potencial significativo, embora ambíguo, para promover estilos de vida saudáveis entre os jovens.

Objectivo: O estudo visa avaliar o impacto da participação nas comunidades mediáticas sobre o futebol na actividade física e na adesão dos estudantes a um estilo de vida saudável.

Metodologia: Os métodos de investigação incluem um questionário online (n=500), entrevistas em profundidade (n=20), análise de conteúdo de recursos mediáticos sobre futebol e um estudo de caso (n=30).

Resultados: Os resultados mostram uma associação positiva moderada entre a participação nas comunidades mediáticas sobre futebol e os níveis de atividade física (r=0,56, p<0,01).

Discussão: As atividades offline têm maior influência no estilo de vida saudável do que o consumo passivo de conteúdos. Considerando que os estudantes veem o futebol mediático como um entretenimento e não como uma preparação para o desporto profissional, as maiores barreiras ao aumento da atividade física são a falta de tempo (80%) e as restrições financeiras (56,7%).

Conclusões: O estudo conclui que a eficácia das recomendações propostas pode ser aumentada se os influenciadores mediáticos do futebol promoverem mais ativamente conteúdos sobre estilos de vida saudáveis.
