Desenvolvimento e validação da escala de Grit utilizando o modelo de Rasch: adaptação transcultural

Introdução: A garra é um traço psicológico que tem merecido muita atenção em diversos estudos, sobretudo no contexto académico. Este traço é considerado um fator importante para o sucesso dos alunos no meio académico.
Objectivo: O objectivo deste estudo foi desenvolver e validar uma escala de garra adaptada da escala Grit-O de Duckworth para medir o nível de garra dos estudantes universitários.
Metodologia: A metodologia utilizada nesta investigação é quantitativa. O instrumento de recolha de dados utiliza a escala Grit-O com um total de 12 itens. A amostra para este estudo foi constituída por 461 estudantes distribuídos por várias regiões da Indonésia. A análise dos dados foi realizada com recurso ao modelo Rasch, concretamente ao software Winstep.
Resultados: A análise dos dados demonstrou que o índice de fiabilidade dos itens foi de 0,99. O ângulo de polaridade dos itens indica que cada item pode contribuir para a determinação dos alunos, uma vez que o valor da correlação ponto-medida para cada item variou entre 0,33 e 0,55. O teste de idealidade dos itens do instrumento demonstra que o esquema de itens pode ser utilizado.
Discussão: De um modo geral, a escala Grit-O desenvolvida para estudantes apresenta uma boa validade e fiabilidade. Assim sendo, a escala Grit-O adaptada à sociedade indonésia pode medir o nível de garra dos estudantes nos constructos de consistência de interesse e persistência de esforço.
Conclusões: Os itens da versão indonésia da escala Grit-O apresentam elevada validade e fiabilidade, tornando-os adequados para utilização na medição da garra em estudantes universitários.
