Efeito do Pilates pré-natal na velocidade de oscilação do centro de pressão e sua correlação com a intensidade da dor lombar

Resumo

Introdução: Foi demonstrado que o Pilates diminui o risco de quedas. Além disso, a intensidade da dor lombar (lombalgia) pode afetar o controle postural.

Objetivo: Determinar o impacto do Pilates pré-natal no controle postural de gestantes e se ele é afetado pela gravidade da lombalgia.

Metodologia: Um ensaio clínico randomizado. Os participantes (18-35 anos) foram alocados aleatoriamente em dois grupos (31 em cada grupo: Grupo Intervenção e Grupo Controle). A velocidade de oscilação do centro de pressão foi determinada.  A Escala Visual Analógica (EVA) foi utilizada para avaliar a gravidade da dor lombar.

Resultados: Uma ANOVA mista 2x2 mostrou resultados significativos para velocidade média do centro de pressão medida durante olhos fechados em superfície dura (F= 8,743, ηp2 = 0,160, p = 0,005), olhos abertos em superfície de espuma (F= 9,877, ηp2 = 0,177, p = 0,003) e olhos fechados em superfície de espuma (F= 19,937, ηp2 = 0,302, p = 0,001) Os escores VAS pós-teste correlacionaram-se fraca a moderadamente com a velocidade média de oscilação postural durante o terceiro trimestre.

Discussão: Espera-se que o controle da postura estática de uma mulher grávida se deteriore do segundo para o terceiro trimestre. Os exercícios de Pilates melhoram o feedback proprioceptivo e o controle postural, visando especificamente os músculos centrais e do assoalho pélvico.

Conclusão: O Pilates ajuda as gestantes a manter a estabilidade postural. Este impacto foi maior quando os participantes foram testados numa superfície instável, sem intervenção visual. Durante o terceiro trimestre, a gravidade da lombalgia e a oscilação postural estão correlacionadas de fraca a moderadamente.
