Melhorar o conhecimento sobre nutrição desportiva entre atletas universitários através de intervenções educacionais

Resumo

Introdução: A nutrição desportiva é essencial para melhorar o desempenho e a saúde dos atletas, mas muitos estudantes universitários não possuem conhecimentos suficientes. As modernas tecnologias educativas oferecem métodos inovadores e eficazes para o ensino da nutrição. Objectivo: Este estudo teve como objectivo avaliar a eficácia de intervenções educativas, especificamente com recurso a aplicações móveis, na melhoria do conhecimento sobre nutrição desportiva entre estudantes universitários.
Metodologia: Foi conduzido um estudo quase experimental com a participação de 100 estudantes universitários, divididos em dois grupos: um grupo experimental que utilizou a aplicação móvel MyFitnessPal e um grupo de controlo que recebeu instruções tradicionais através de aulas expositivas. Foram utilizados questionários pré e pós-intervenção para avaliar os ganhos de conhecimento. Foram realizadas análises estatísticas para comparar as mudanças entre os grupos. Resultados: O grupo experimental apresentou melhorias significativamente maiores no conhecimento sobre nutrição desportiva em comparação com o grupo controlo (P < 0,05). Os resultados indicam que as ferramentas de aprendizagem móvel foram mais eficazes do que os métodos de ensino convencionais.
Discussão: Estes achados corroboram a integração de ferramentas digitais, como o MyFitnessPal, na educação nutricional de estudantes universitários. A interatividade e a acessibilidade das aplicações móveis provavelmente contribuíram para um melhor envolvimento e retenção de informação.
Conclusões: As aplicações móveis educativas podem ser ferramentas eficazes para melhorar o conhecimento sobre nutrição desportiva entre atletas universitários. A integração destas tecnologias nos programas de desenvolvimento dos atletas pode influenciar positivamente o seu desempenho e saúde a longo prazo.
