Perfil saludable en adultos físicamente activos según patrones de entrenamiento y condición fisiológica

Resumen

Introducción. Los patrones de entrenamiento en adultos físicamente activos influyen en la composición corporal y la respuesta fisiológica; sin embargo, aún existe incertidumbre sobre qué combinaciones de estas variables definen un perfil fisiológicamente saludable en condiciones de práctica libre, donde la intensidad y el control del estímulo no son estandarizados.

Objetivo. Determinar los factores de composición corporal, respuestas fisiológicas y características del entrenamiento asociados con un perfil fisiológicamente saludable en adultos físicamente activos que realizan distintas modalidades de ejercicio.

Metodología. Estudio transversal con 973 participantes. Se recopilaron datos sociodemográficos, variables del entrenamiento e indicadores fisiológicos obtenidos mediante relojes inteligentes. El IMC y el porcentaje de grasa se midieron mediante antropometría estandarizada y bioimpedancia. Se aplicaron Kruskal–Wallis y correlaciones de Spearman. Se ajustó un modelo de regresión logística binaria con edad, género y variables de entrenamiento (p < 0.05).

Resultados. No se encontraron diferencias significativas en IMC (p = 0.298), porcentaje de grasa (p = 0.135) ni frecuencia cardíaca entre yoga, fuerza, HIIT y cardio. La duración por sesión (OR = 3.91; p < 0.001), la frecuencia semanal (OR = 1.35; p = 0.003), la ingesta hídrica (OR = 1.42; p = 0.043) y el sexo femenino (OR = 4.84; p < 0.001) aumentaron significativamente la probabilidad de un perfil saludable. La modalidad no mostró efectos independientes.

Discusión. La similitud entre modalidades indica que, en práctica libre, el volumen, la hidratación y la carga interna influyen más en la adaptación fisiológica que el tipo de ejercicio. El porcentaje de grasa discriminó mejor que el IMC.

Conclusiones. El volumen semanal, la hidratación y el sexo femenino se asociaron con un perfil saludable, mientras que la modalidad no fue determinante.
