Introduction: Physical education and sport have emerged as pedagogical strategies for the development of entrepreneurial and social competences, going beyond their traditional role in health.
Objective: To analyse the scientific evidence on how sports programmes and Physical Education contribute to the development of entrepreneurial skills (creativity, resilience, initiative) and socio-emotional skills (communication, leadership, cooperation) in educational and community contexts.
Methodology: A systematic review was conducted following PRISMA 2020, with searches in Scopus, SciELO and Dialnet (2020–2025). Empirical studies and reviews evaluating sports interventions aimed at entrepreneurial and social competences were included.
Results: Ten studies met the criteria, highlighting systematic reviews and quasi-experimental studies. The findings show that programmes with intentional design significantly improve socio-emotional skills and entrepreneurial mindsets, whereas traditional approaches show limited effects. Limitations were identified in methodological heterogeneity and the absence of longitudinal studies, as well as the need to standardise instruments.
Conclusion: Physical education and sport, integrated into curricula and community programmes, are effective tools for social inclusion and employability. It is recommended to strengthen experimental designs, expand studies in vulnerable contexts and develop clear conceptual frameworks to ensure the sustainable transfer of competences.
