O treinamento intervalado de alta intensidade a longo prazo reduz a glicemia em pacientes com diabetes mellitus tipo 2

Resumo

Este estudo teve como objetivo demonstrar os efeitos de longo prazo do treinamento intervalado de alta intensidade (HIIT) na redução dos níveis de glicose no sangue em pacientes com diabetes mellitus tipo 2. A pesquisa emprega um desenho pré-experimental com um desenho experimental pré e pós-teste. de um único grupo. Participaram do estudo 20 pacientes com diabetes mellitus tipo 2, com idade entre 40 e 60 anos, que receberam a intervenção HIIT três vezes por semana durante oito semanas. A coleta de dados envolveu a medição dos níveis de glicose no sangue em jejum antes e depois da intervenção HIIT usando o medidor ONE TOUCH™ BASIC™ Plus. A análise dos dados foi realizada por meio de testes t de amostras pareadas com nível de significância de 5%, e o tamanho do efeito foi avaliado pelo d de Cohen. A análise do teste t de amostras pareadas entre os níveis de glicemia pré-HIIT e pós-HIIT (181,50 ± 17,85 mg/dL a 99,50 ± 8,26 mg/dL, p ≤ 0,001) revelou uma redução significativa, com um grande tamanho de efeito (d de Cohen = 5.896). Este estudo confirma que o treinamento intervalado de alta intensidade e longo prazo é eficaz na redução dos níveis de glicose no sangue em jejum para níveis normais em pacientes com diabetes mellitus tipo 2.
