Efeitos da sauna após exercício aeróbio no perfil lipídico, composição corporal e dor muscular em homens obesos e não obesos

Objectivo: O objectivo deste estudo foi avaliar os efeitos incrementais de uma única sessão de sauna seca e da exposição à sauna de infravermelhos como modalidades de recuperação após exercício aeróbico no perfil lipídico, na composição corporal e na dor muscular em homens obesos e não obesos.
Metodologia: Este estudo incluiu dezasseis homens obesos (G1; idade: 20,25 ± 1,24) e dezasseis homens não obesos (G2; idade: 20,75 ± 0,93). Os indivíduos foram aleatoriamente designados para receber todos os tratamentos (desenho cruzado) com um intervalo de medição de 7 dias, incluindo sauna seca (SS, 40 ± 2°C), sauna de infravermelhos (SI, 45 ± 2°C) e repouso sentado (SRT, temperatura ambiente). Os indivíduos realizaram exercício aeróbico num ergómetro a uma intensidade moderada durante 60 minutos. Os parâmetros medidos foram o perfil lipídico, a composição corporal e a dor muscular.
Resultados: Foi observada uma redução significativa (p < 0,05) dos níveis de HDL no G2 (SI, CTR). Foi observado um aumento significativo (p < 0,05) dos níveis de colesterol total no G2 (IRS). Foi observada uma redução significativa dos níveis de gordura visceral no G1 (SS, SI, CTR), mas não no G2. Foram observados aumentos significativos da massa óssea no G1 (CTR) e no G2 (SS). Não foram observadas diferenças significativas nos valores de EVA em todas as modalidades.
Discussão: A adição de uma sessão da modalidade de recuperação não alterou significativamente o perfil lipídico e a composição corporal dos indivíduos de ambos os grupos. Estudos crónicos de longa duração são necessários para esclarecer os resultados. Com base nestes achados, recomendamos a incorporação de SI após o exercício em casos de obesidade, devido à redução dos níveis de triglicéridos e de gordura visceral. Nos indivíduos não obesos, a recuperação passiva é a mais eficaz.
Conclusões: Mais investigação com intervenções mais longas é necessária para complementar estes achados.
