Questionário de competências para treinadores: medir as competências funcionais dos treinadores desportivos

Introdução: O papel do treinador desportivo transcende a técnica, integrando competências cognitivas, emocionais e sociais que promovem o desenvolvimento holístico do atleta. Dada a falta de padronização no processo educativo e no reconhecimento profissional dos treinadores, uma ferramenta de avaliação de competências pode orientar a formação e melhorar a prática do coaching.
Objectivo: O objectivo deste estudo foi analisar as competências funcionais dos treinadores em relação às suas características individuais, educativas e desportivas.
Metodologia: Em primeiro lugar, desenvolvemos e validámos o Questionário de Competências Funcionais do Treinador, um instrumento com 18 itens organizados em seis dimensões. Com recurso a esta ferramenta, recolhemos respostas de 332 treinadores a nível nacional. Os dados foram analisados através de análise de regressão Bayesiana multinível.
Resultados: Os resultados indicaram que o tipo de ensino superior, a faixa etária e o nível competitivo influenciaram as competências funcionais dos treinadores. Não foram observados efeitos substanciais em relação ao género ou à experiência desportiva prévia.
Discussão: O estudo demonstrou que as competências funcionais dos treinadores dependem da idade, do nível académico e do nível competitivo. Os treinadores mais experientes e os que tinham formação em Educação Física ou Ciências do Desporto demonstraram maior competência, enquanto a maturidade, a experiência prática e o treino contínuo se revelaram essenciais para o seu desenvolvimento profissional.
Conclusões: Estes resultados podem apoiar a formação de formadores, fornecendo uma estrutura para avaliar as competências, identificar áreas de melhoria e orientar o desenvolvimento de programas educativos que promovam a melhoria e a monitorização contínua das competências profissionais.
