Abstract

Introduction: this study addressed the readiness of vocational graduates to meet industrial demands, focusing on the role of physical endurance and work skills in shaping industry competencies.

Objective: this study aimed to analyze the influence of physical endurance and work skills on industry competencies and their contribution to the readiness and competitiveness of vocational high school graduates.

Methodology: the study employed a quantitative approach using partial least squares structural equation modeling. data were collected through an online questionnaire from 82 final-year students of three vocational high schools in malang city. validity, reliability, and structural model evaluations were conducted.

Results: the findings showed that all indicators met validity and reliability criteria. the adjusted coefficient of determination was 0.714, indicating that physical endurance and work skills explained 71.4 percent of the variance in industry competencies. physical endurance had a large effect, while work skills had a small to moderate effect. both variables had positive and significant effects.

Discussion: the results were consistent with previous studies emphasizing the importance of physical and practical competencies in vocational education, with physical endurance demonstrating a stronger influence.

Conclusions: the study concludes that physical endurance is a key factor in shaping industry competencies, supported by work skills, and highlights the importance of integrated development in vocational education.
