Introduction: Higher education constantly faces challenges related to the overall well-being of its teaching staff, where in a context of accelerated transformations, it becomes essential to understand how work life quality (WLQ) is shaped and how it intersects with phenomena such as double presence.
Objective: To analyze research trends (2020–2025) on work life quality and double presence among university professors of physical education through a bibliometric analysis.
Methodology: This research was framed within a quantitative approach. The type of study was non-experimental and documentary in nature. The adopted design was bibliometric, and the research level or scope was exploratory-descriptive.
Results: The evolution observed in scientific production between 2020 and 2025 shows that work life quality and double presence are topics that have gained increasing interest in the study of university teachers’ well-being, especially in the field of physical education.
Discussion: Recent research not only describes working conditions but also proposes intervention models aimed at promoting comprehensive well-being. However, theoretical gaps persist in integrating family and gender dimensions, as well as inequalities in the international participation of Latin American countries.
Conclusions: The thematic analysis revealed four main conceptual cores: work life quality, work-life balance, double presence, and physical activity and teacher health. Among them, double presence emerged as an incipient but increasingly relevant category.
