Efeitos da atividade física em estudantes universitários com transtornos mentais: uma revisão sistemática com meta-análise

Evidências científicas crescentes sugerem que a atividade física melhora os sintomas depressivos, de ansiedade ou de estresse em diferentes populações, especialmente estudantes universitários. O objetivo deste trabalho foi realizar uma revisão sistemática de estudos randomizados controlados que avaliaram os efeitos da atividade física sobre sintomas depressivos, ansiosos e/ou de estresse em estudantes universitários no período de 1986 a 2023. Diferentes palavras-chave relacionadas ao tema e booleano foram utilizados operadores nas bases de dados: Web of Science, PubMed e Scopus. Foram analisados 27 artigos que atenderam aos critérios de inclusão, todos avaliaram depressão, ansiedade ou estresse com diversas baterias. Na meta-análise, um total de 22 estudos: 10 estudos para depressão, 8 para ansiedade e 4 para estresse mostraram os benefícios das atividades físicas realizadas. Todos os estudos tiveram pelo menos um grupo de intervenção com atividades físicas e as intervenções apresentaram diversidade de frequência, duração e tipos. A heterogeneidade dos protocolos implementados pode ser a razão da variedade de resultados. Estudos futuros deverão estabelecer com mais clareza a prescrição de exercícios para estabelecer qual gera efeitos mais benéficos e duradouros na saúde mental dos estudantes universitários.
