Resumo

Enquadramento e objetivos: A flexibilidade é um dos principais componentes da condição física que é importante para melhorar o rendimento atlético e a saúde em geral. Este estudo tem como objetivo avaliar o efeito do treino na flexibilidade e comparar a eficácia do treino em atletas e não atletas. Metodologia: Este estudo utilizou um projeto de estudo de caso observacional que envolveu 460 participantes entre os 18 e os 20 anos, que foram divididos em dois grupos, nomeadamente atletas e não atletas. O grupo de atletas era composto por indivíduos que participavam rotineiramente em atividades físicas intensas, enquanto os não atletas não tinham uma rotina estruturada de exercício físico. Os testes de flexibilidade são realizados através do método de sentar e alcançar antes e depois do programa de exercício. Os dados foram analisados ​​utilizando testes t emparelhados e testes não emparelhados para avaliar as diferenças na melhoria da flexibilidade entre os grupos. Resultados: Os atletas que se dedicam regularmente à atividade física intensa apresentam um aumento mais significativo da flexibilidade do que os não atletas. O grupo de atletas teve uma flexibilidade promedio mais alta, com uma diferença estadísticamente significativa, com um aumento promedio de 26 cm nos atletas e 15 cm nos não atletas (p < 0,05). A diferença na melhor flexibilidade entre os grupos também foi significativamente significativa, com uma diferença média de 11 cm (p < 0,05). Conclusão: Este estudo confirma que o exercício físico regular melhora significativamente a flexibilidade, especialmente em atletas. O grupo de atletas apresentou uma melhor resposta ao programa de exercício em comparação com os não atletas, que enfatiza a importância do exercício estruturado na manutenção e uma melhor flexibilidade. Estes hallazgos podem fornecer informações a treinadores, fisioterapeutas e profissionais de saúde para desenvolver programas de exercício eficazes para diversos grupos populacionais.
