Bandagem auto-aplicada para redistribuição da pressão plantar em pés neutros e planos: um estudo quase-experimental

Resumo

Introdução: Os pés planos são uma condição prevalente que altera a biomecânica do pé. A ligadura Low-Dye pode modular a carga plantar, mas o seu procedimento de aplicação com múltiplas bandas é tecnicamente complexo e geralmente realizado por um profissional clínico.

Objectivo: Avaliar os efeitos imediatos de uma técnica de bandagem auto-aplicada na distribuição da pressão e na pega plantar em adultos com pés planos ou neutros, em condições estáticas e dinâmicas.

Metodologia: Num estudo pré-pós de sessão única, foram avaliados vinte e sete participantes (18-25 anos) através do Índice de Chippaux-Smirak, divididos num grupo com pés planos (n=9) e num grupo com pés neutros (n=18). Cada participante aplicou a ligadura sob a supervisão de um avaliador treinado, que registou as suas pressões plantares utilizando uma plataforma baropodométrica.

Resultados: No grupo com pés planos, a bandagem esteve associada a um deslocamento lateral da pressão no retropé tanto em condições estáticas (p=0,0077) como dinâmicas (p=0,0209). No grupo com pé neutro, observou-se um deslocamento lateral no retropé (p=0,0311) e um deslocamento medial no antepé (p=0,0057) apenas estatisticamente.

Discussão: A lateralização da pressão no retropé está de acordo com a literatura sobre a bandagem tradicional de Low-Dye. No entanto, este estudo sugere que efeitos comparáveis ​​poderiam ser alcançados com uma técnica simplificada de auto-aplicação.

Conclusões: Uma única aplicação desta ligadura foi associada a uma redistribuição imediata e específica da pressão plantar em adultos com pés neutros ou achatados. Contudo, são necessários estudos controlados por placebo com acompanhamento a longo prazo antes de se formularem recomendações clínicas.
