Introduction: Physical activity allows for improved quality of life, even if inactivity persists. Soccer, through motor skills and a variety of movements, stimulates aerobic and anaerobic functions, enhancing the individual's overall development.
Objective: To apply soccer techniques through a program aimed at enhancing and developing motor skills in elementary school children.
Methodology: This study was positivist, applying the hypothetical-deductive method, conducted with a quantitative approach and a longitudinal quasi-experimental design. One hundred seventy elementary school students participated, divided into an experimental group (86) and a control group (84). A pretest and posttest were administered using a 20-item observation form validated by five experts in physical education and research, ensuring its relevance and reliability. The analysis was performed in SPSS using descriptive statistics and the Mann-Whitney U test to validate the hypotheses.
Results: The results showed that the technical fundamentals of soccer program yielded significant improvements in motor skills: in the experimental group, 78% of children at the beginning level decreased to 60% at the achieved level. Furthermore, a U value of 47, p = 0.000 was determined, confirming significant differences compared to the control group.
Discussion: The results reinforce the argument that implementing a technical fundamentals of soccer program allows for significant development of these types of skills in the target group, allowing children to develop comprehensively.
Conclusions: The implementation of technical fundamentals of soccer programs significantly favors the improvement of motor skills in elementary school students.
