Os efeitos do DVD de treino físico na autoestima dos alunos do ensino primário com obesidade

Enquadramento: O exercício e a atividade física também podem ter efeitos psicológicos favoráveis. Este estudo tem como objetivo determinar os efeitos dos vídeos de treino físico na autoestima de crianças com obesidade.
Métodos: Esta experiência controlada aleatoriamente envolveu 864 crianças com obesidade entre os 7 e os 12 anos. O grupo de intervenção recebeu vídeos instrutivos que sirvieron de base para um programa de treino físico de 12 semanas. Tanto na fase de pré-teste como na de pós-teste, foi pedido aos pais que completassem as horas de meditação de autoestima. Pode utilizar testes de pares e análise de covariância (ANCOVA) para examinar os dados.
Resultados: Após a intervenção, os níveis médios de autoestima dos grupos de controlo e de intervenção foram significativamente diferentes (F = 3157,211, p < 0,001). Após uma intervenção de 12 semanas, o índice de massa corporal (F = 202,47) e o peso corporal (F = 741,25) do grupo experimental diminuíram (p < 0,001).
Conclusão: As crianças com obesidade experienciaram perda de peso de acordo com o seu índice de massa corporal e melhoraram a sua autoestima ao participarem num programa de exercício com vídeos instrutivos. Esperamos que as famílias, as escolas e os centros terapêuticos e educativos beneficiem do programa de exercício desenvolvido através desta investigação.
