A influência do suporte social, da ansiedade e da autoconfiança no rendimento máximo dos atletas de badminton: o papel mediador da força mental

Introdução: Este estúdio explora os efeitos do apoio social, a ansiedade e a autoconfiança no desempenho máximo dos jovens atletas de badminton, destacando o papel de mediador da força mental. Embora as investigações anteriores tenham realçado estes factores psicológicos, existem evidências limitadas sobre a forma como a força mental traduz os seus recursos em resultados óptimos.
Objectivo: O objectivo do estudo é analisar as influências directas e indirectas do suporte social, a ansiedade e a auto-confiança no rendimento máximo, tendo a fortaleza mental como variável mediadora.
Metodologia: Foi aplicado um projeto quantitativo explicativo com 214 atletas selecionados através de um mapa aleatório simples de uma população de 418 jogadores ativos em clubes de badminton de Yogyakarta, Indonésia. Se utiliza instrumentos validados: PASS-Q (apoyo social), SAS-2Id (ansiedad), Cuestionario de Confianza Deportiva, uma escala de rendimento adaptada de Potgieter & Kidd (2011) e MTIid (fortaleza mental). Os dados foram analisados através de PLS-SEM utilizando o SmartPLS 4.0.
Resultados: O apoio social melhorou significativamente tanto o rendimento máximo (t = 2,948; p = 0,003) como a força mental (t = 4,034; p = 0,000). A ansiedade afetou o desempenho máximo (t = 3,757; p = 0,000) e a força mental (t = 3,874; p = 0,000). A autoconfiança influenciou positivamente o rendimento máximo (t = 10,481; p = 0,000) e a força mental (t = 9,784; p = 0,000). A força mental, por sua vez, melhorou o rendimento máximo (t = 4,284; p = 0,000) e mediu significativamente os efeitos do apoio social (t = 3,176; p = 0,002), da ansiedade (t = 2,811; p = 0,005) e da autoconfiança (t = 3,723; p = 0,000).
Conclusões: O suporte social, a ansiedade e a autoconfiança influenciam de forma significativa o rendimento máximo, tanto de forma direta como indireta, através da força mental. Recomenda-se que os treinadores reforcem a resiliência mental dos atletas, fomentem ambientes de apoio, reforcem a confiança e gerenciem a ansiedade para otimizar o sucesso competitivo.
