Enfermidades não transmissíveis em relação à composição corporal e à condição física no ensino terciário

Resumo

Introdução: A vida do estudante do ensino superior apresenta diferentes aspetos comportamentais que influenciam o risco de padecer doenças não transmissíveis, alguns relacionados com a sua composição corporal e com a sua condição física.

Objectivo: relacionar os factores de risco de sofrimento das doenças não transmissíveis com a composição corporal e a actividade física no ensino superior.

Metodologia: foram avaliados 1.020 alunos (526 homens e 494 mulheres); foi realizado um estudo quantitativo, observacional, prospetivo, descritivo e transversal relacional; se avaliou uma amostra estratificada, representativa e probabilística de alunos; determinou-se a composição corporal através do peso corporal e da estatura na posição de torta; foi considerada a condição física em termos de capacidade cardiorrespiratória (teste de Leger) e força de pressão manual.

Resultados: todas as variáveis ​​​​do estúdio fueron foram significativamente mais elevadas entre os homens; Os dados antropométricos revelam diferenças significativas entre os sexos em termos de peso e altura, a maioria dos estudantes apresenta uma composição corporal dentro do intervalo saludável. A distribuição da força de pressão entre os homens é mais uniforme entre as instituições; nas mulheres, as diferenças entre universidades são mais acentuadas. Os valores da capacidade cardiorrespiratória concentram-se em torno do intervalo de 40 a 50 (adequado).

Conclusões: os estudantes do ensino terciário apresentam uma condição física para além do adequado, o que contribui para reduzir a inatividade física, o estilo de vida sedentário e a aquisição de doenças não transmissíveis.
