Impacto da educação nutricional no consumo de alimentos ultraprocessados ​​em pré-adolescentes

Resumo

Introdução: O consumo excessivo de alimentos ultraprocessados ​​na pré-adolescência é um problema de saúde pública que requer estratégias de intervenção.

Objectivo: Este estudo visa avaliar o impacto de uma intervenção educativa de comunicação sobre nutrição, abordando o consumo de alimentos ultraprocessados ​​​​em pré-adolescentes dos 10 aos 12 anos, e analisar as diferenças de impacto com base em duas variáveis ​​​​contrastantes: sexo e média escolar.

Metodologia: O desenho metodológico proposto foi pré-experimental, analítico-correlacional e quantitativo. A intervenção, aplicada a uma amostra de N=164 participantes na faixa etária especificada, teve a duração de três semanas e incluiu palestras, infografias, cartazes e jogos educativos. A recolha de dados foi realizada através de dois questionários que mediram o consumo de alimentos ultraprocessados ​​antes e depois da intervenção. A análise dos dados incluiu estatística descritiva, testes t emparelhados e ANOVA bidirecional com medidas repetidas.

Resultados: Os resultados mostram uma redução significativa no consumo de todas as quatro categorias de alimentos ultraprocessados: doces e produtos de panificação processados, snacks salgados, bebidas açucaradas e refeições prontas a consumir. Em relação às variáveis ​​​​contrastantes, não foram encontradas diferenças com base no sexo, mas foram observadas diferenças com base na média escolar.

Discussão: Consequentemente, enfatiza-se o potencial da educação nutricional como estratégia de intervenção para promover hábitos alimentares saudáveis ​​nos pré-adolescentes.

Conclusões: Os achados têm implicações de longo alcance, sendo relevantes tanto do ponto de vista social como académico.
