Introduction: Educational inclusion and recreation are fundamental elements for the comprehensive development of students, especially those with disabilities.
Objective: This study focused on analyzing how the combination of inclusive education and recreational activities can positively influence the learning and skill development of students with and without disabilities in educational institutions across various provinces of Ecuador, including Guayas, Pichincha, Manabí, Azuay, and Esmeraldas.
Methodology: A quantitative approach with a descriptive and correlational design was used, applying surveys to teachers and students to assess their perceptions about inclusion in recreational activities and its influence on the educational process.
Results: The findings revealed that students who regularly participate in recreational activities show significantly higher development in social, academic, and socioemotional skills compared to those who participate sporadically or not at all.
Discussion: The results align with previous research supporting the importance of recreation in the inclusive educational context. However, areas for improvement were identified, such as adapting recreational activities to ensure that all students, regardless of their abilities, can actively participate.
Conclusion: In conclusion, the integration of inclusive education with recreational activities positively contributes to the inclusion and development of students with and without disabilities, promoting a more just, equitable, and participatory educational environment.
