Inter-relação entre força mental, religiosidade e felicidade de adolescentes atletas de elite segundo gênero, tipo de esporte e nível de escolaridade

Não existem estudos que analisem de forma abrangente a força mental, a religiosidade e a satisfação de acordo com o género, tipo de desporto e diferentes níveis escolares, especialmente no contexto de jovens atletas de elite. Na verdade, acredita-se que esta variável seja um construto muito importante em relação ao desempenho e às conquistas dos atletas em campo. O objetivo desta pesquisa é explorar a resistência mental, a religiosidade e a felicidade na vida dos atletas de acordo com o gênero, tipo de esporte e nível escolar. Um total de 97 atletas juvenis de elite (idade = 15,22 ± 1,34; F = 36, M = 61) foram incluídos no estudo. Os dados da investigação foram recolhidos através de instrumentos padrão utilizados por cientistas de todo o mundo, nomeadamente o Índice de Resistência Mental (MTI), o Teste de Espiritualidade no Desporto (SIST) e a Escala de Satisfação com a Vida (SWLS). Análise de variância, correlação e análise de caminho foram utilizadas para compreender melhor as três variáveis da pesquisa com base no sexo do atleta, tipo de esporte e nível escolar. Este estudo constatou que houve diferença significativa apenas na variável religiosidade do atleta de acordo com a escolaridade (F = 6,212, p ≤ 0,01). A força mental dos atletas tem relação significativa com a religiosidade (r = 0,343; ρ = 0,323; p ≤ 0,01) e a felicidade na vida (r = 0,340; ρ = 0,200; p ≤ 0,01). Além disso, parece também que a religiosidade tem uma relação significativa com a felicidade na vida (r = 0,475; ρ = 0,406; p ≤ 0,01) e a idade do atleta está significativamente correlacionada com a religiosidade (r = 0,233; ρ = 0,200; A força mental dos atletas tem relação significativa diretamente com a satisfação e indiretamente através da religiosidade. Estas três variáveis desempenham um papel importante no desporto competitivo, pelo que os treinadores ou treinadores de atletas necessitam de fornecer intervenção psicológica para melhorar estas três variáveis.
