Resumo

Fundo. A competência motora adequada durante a infância influencia a atividade física, a aptidão física e o desenvolvimento geral, realçando a importância da deteção precoce. Apesar da falta de uma ferramenta de avaliação universal, a Bateria de Avaliação do Movimento para Crianças – segunda edição (MABC-2) é amplamente utilizada, embora a avaliação seja demorada.
Metas. Este estudo transversal, realizado com 147 crianças espanholas dos 4 aos 7 anos (idade 5,41±0,55; 47,62% raparigas; etnia branca), teve como objectivo examinar a validade e fiabilidade da versão breve da Movement Assessment Battery for Children – segunda edição (MABC-2-SF) em crianças.
Métodos e procedimentos. A validade foi avaliada através de análise fatorial exploratória e análise de validade convergente, e a fiabilidade foi analisada através de análise de concordância e desempenho em testes.
Resultados. Os resultados mostraram que o MABC-2-SF, composto por três subtestes, é válido, fiável e útil para a deteção preliminar da competência motora em crianças espanholas dos 4 aos 7 anos, com uma probabilidade de 94,16% de identificar corretamente aquelas que não apresentam risco de perturbação do desenvolvimento da coordenação motora.
Conclusões e implicações. O MABC-2-SF permite que uma deteção preliminar da competência motora das crianças seja realizada de forma mais económica e ajustada, facilitando a recolha de dados em larga escala. Isto poderá favorecer a implementação de testes de pré-triagem em massa, beneficiando os médicos, educadores e investigadores que trabalham com crianças pequenas.
