Efeitos da atividade física ao ar livre na regulação comportamental entre estudantes universitários da Malásia

Resumo

Introdução: A atividade física ao ar livre é reconhecida como uma abordagem pedagógica eficaz para melhorar a regulação comportamental, a competência social e o bem-estar psicossocial. No entanto, o seu papel na redução de comportamentos desadaptativos entre estudantes universitários, particularmente na Malásia, permanece em grande parte inexplorado.

Objectivo: Este estudo quase-experimental examinou os efeitos de um programa estruturado de actividade física ao ar livre na agressividade, nas relações entre pares e na auto-regulação em 90 estudantes de licenciatura malaios inscritos num curso de educação física.

Metodologia: Os participantes foram alocados a um grupo de tratamento ou de controlo e responderam a três instrumentos validados com três momentos de avaliação: o Índice de Relação entre Pares (PRI), o Questionário de Autoconceito Pessoal (PSC) e o Questionário de Comportamento Agressivo. A intervenção, baseada na aprendizagem experiencial e no modelo de Responsabilidade Pessoal e Social do Professor (RPSP), integrou tarefas cooperativas, atividades reflexivas e atividade física de intensidade moderada a vigorosa. Os dados foram analisados ​​utilizando estatística descritiva, análise de regressão, testes t, ANOVA unidirecional e ANOVA de medidas repetidas com desenho misto.

Resultados: Os resultados indicaram que as relações positivas com os pares previram consistentemente níveis mais baixos de agressão (Pré-teste β = –0,367; Pós-teste 1 β = –0,531; Pós-teste 2 β = –0,519; p < 0,001). O grupo de tratamento apresentou melhorias significativas em comparação com o grupo de controlo (F = 6,11, p = 0,003).

Discussão e Conclusões: Estes achados destacam o potencial da atividade física estruturada ao ar livre para promover a regulação comportamental no ensino superior.
