Ténis de mesa em Educação Física: perceções do professorado sobre as barreiras à sua implementação

Resumo

Introdução: o ténis de mesa (TM) é um desporto muito popular com um notável potencial educativo pela sua facilidade de aprendizagem e pelos seus benefícios a nível motor. No entanto, a sua presença como conteúdo educativo nas aulas de educação física (EF) é reduzida.

Objectivo: analisar as percepções do professor de EF do Ensino Primário (EP) sobre as razões que facilitam ou limitam a incorporação da MT como conteúdo educativo.

Metodologia: foi desenvolvido um estudo transversal descritivo correlacional com recurso ao questionário “Racquet Sports Attitude Scale (RSAS)”. El RSAS foi aplicado a 393 docentes da EF de EP de Aragão. Realizou testes de Chi quadrad e estimativas do tamanho do efeito.

Resultados: observa-se um desastre unânime com a exclusão da TM como conteúdo (88,5%). A peligrosidade da sua utilização atingiu o autarca rechazo (99,4%), enquanto o item não exigido pelos alunos obteve um valor de 88,5%. A principal barreira identificada foi a falta de recursos materiais (75,7%).

Discussão: Os resultados obtidos coincidem com os estudos anteriores, onde se manifesta que os centros educativos têm problemas estruturais para a sua implementação motivados pela escassez de instalações e materiais. Destaca-se uma importante carência formativa do professorado e uma fuga de recursos didáticos para a sua implementação.

Conclusões: a docente do curso manifesta uma atuação muito positiva em relação à utilização da TM como conteúdo da EF. A dotação de equipamento e a formação específica do professorado parecem ser as condicionantes principais para poder lograr uma integração efectiva do TM na EF escolar.
