Comportamentos de risco à saúde e atitudes em relação à atividade física em estudantes universitários

Contexto: A adolescência e o início da idade adulta representam um período crítico que molda os resultados de saúde a longo prazo e estabelece as bases para uma vida saudável e produtiva. Entender a influência dos comportamentos de risco à saúde na atividade física e nos hábitos alimentares é essencial para intervenções direcionadas à saúde pública.
Objetivo: O objetivo principal deste estudo foi avaliar o impacto de diversas dimensões de comportamentos de risco à saúde na atividade física entre estudantes universitários e examinar as diferenças na atividade física e nos padrões alimentares por gênero.
Metodologia: Trata-se de um estudo transversal que investigou atitudes e comportamentos de estudantes em relação aos riscos à saúde e à atividade física. A análise abrangeu seis dimensões de comportamentos de risco à saúde: tabagismo, consumo de álcool, uso de drogas ilícitas, dieta e comportamentos sexuais de risco. Um total de 95 estudantes (30 mulheres e 65 homens), com idades entre 20 e 30 anos, foram selecionados por amostragem aleatória. Os dados foram coletados usando o Leah Health Risk Behavior Inventory.
Resultados: Estatísticas descritivas revelaram diferenças de gênero nos níveis de atividade física, com os homens apresentando maior participação em comparação às mulheres. A análise de correlação indicou que a dieta e os hábitos de fumar estavam significativamente correlacionados com a atividade física. Além disso, tabagismo, consumo de álcool, uso de drogas e comportamento sexual de risco apresentaram correlações significativas com padrões alimentares. O consumo de álcool também foi significativamente associado ao uso de drogas e comportamentos sexuais de risco, enquanto os comportamentos sexuais de risco estavam fortemente relacionados ao uso de drogas ilícitas.
Conclusão: O estudo destaca as inter-relações entre vários comportamentos de risco à saúde. Essas descobertas ressaltam a importância de programas inclusivos de educação em saúde que abordem múltiplas dimensões de risco para promover estilos de vida mais saudáveis entre jovens adultos.
