Pendahuluan. Tari tradisional Jawa dapat digunakan sebagai metode untuk meningkatkan keterampilan motorik kasar pada siswa sekolah dasar. Tari tradisional Jawa memiliki unsur ritmis, estetis, dan postural seperti gerakan mengayunkan tangan, berdiri dengan satu kaki, menggelengkan kepala, dan berjalan perlahan yang dapat merangsang kekuatan otot inti, keseimbangan, dan koordinasi tubuh secara stimulan.
Tujuan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas terapi tari tradisional Jawa dalam meningkatkan kekuatan otot dan keseimbangan tubuh pada siswa sekolah dasar.
Metodologi. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain quasi eksperimen dengan rancangan pretest posttest group. Melibatkan 60 siswa yang terdiri dari 30 siswa kelas eksperimen dan 30 siswa kelas kontrol dengan karakteristik anak usia 11–12 tahun, jenis kelamin campuran, umumnya sehat. Kelompok eksperimen diberikan perlakuan terapi tari tradisional Jawa, sedangkan kelompok kontrol tidak diberikan perlakuan khusus terkait terapi tari tradisional Jawa. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi tes kekuatan otot (handgrip dan leg dynamometer) serta balance error scoring system dan dynamic balance beam test. Dilakukan Paired Sample T-Test untuk membandingkan hasil pretest dan posttest pada masing-masing kelompok, Independent Sample T-Test untuk membandingkan perubahan hasil antara kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol, dan Cohen's d untuk mengukur seberapa besar pengaruh terapi tari terhadap variabel yang diukur.
Hasil. Hasil analisis uji-t berpasangan dan uji-t independen menunjukkan peningkatan kekuatan otot tangan dan kaki yang signifikan (p<0,05), serta keseimbangan statis dan dinamis (<0,05) pada kelompok eksperimen dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol.
Pembahasan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian latihan tari Jawa terstruktur selama 2 minggu memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan kekuatan otot dan keseimbangan tubuh siswa sekolah dasar. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan seni budaya seperti tari Jawa dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif latihan fisik yang efektif dan menyenangkan dalam konteks pendidikan jasmani.
Kesimpulan. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah bahwa tari tradisional Jawa terstruktur secara efektif untuk meningkatkan kekuatan otot dan keseimbangan tubuh siswa sekolah dasar, sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif pembelajaran jasmani berbasis budaya lokal.
